The “Coeur de France à Vélo” Route
Connected to the “Loire à Vélo” at both ends — Marseilles-lès-Aubigny (Cher) and Tours (Indre-et-Loire) — the “Coeur de France à Vélo” offers the perfect route for a cycling escape into nature.
The route begins in Montluçon, in the Allier department and winds through around 30 kilometers before entering the Cher, which it crosses over 190 km. It then continues along the south of Loir-et-Cher for 70 km before reaching Touraine province for another 40 km, where it links up with the major cycling routes of the Loire Valley.
Three main sections are already open to explore:
🚴 From Montrichard Val de Cher to Tours (30 km) – a route that blends heritage and nature, running along the Cher river and passing must-see sites such as the Château de Chenonceau.
🚴From Vierzon to Bourges (32km) – a ride through forests and bocage landscapes, perfect for a true escape into the Berry countryside.
🚴From Saint-Amand-Montrond to Montluçon (50 km) – a ride along the Berry Canal, with peaceful stops by the water and dedicated greenways (voies vertes – safe, car-free paths for cyclists and pedestrians).
